Default sportsman 500 gas mileage help

Seems as though mine sucks. I had the coil changed on tuesday. Got it home and have not taken it out of the yard yet. We have ridden it a little around here. No more than an hour and have burned a tank of gas. Whats up with that? Any help, I would appreciate it.

Man you burnt a tank of gas in a hour man thats hard to believe on my 2004 Sportsman 500 H.O. Green My mileage is like 80 - 100 miles then i got reserve and I floor it and still get like 19 miles to the gallon i live on a farm with 500 acres. Try to go like 20mph for like a hour then fill up your tank and take how many miles are on your trip divided into how much gas it took that equals how much mile to the gallon you get

Last weekend I drove my '05 700 EFI 60 miles, cruising speed, little technical, and only put in about 2.5 gallons to fill it back up. I'm guessing when I'm zipping along at 30 mph that I can get about 90-100 miles out of a tank. Remember also that I live in New Mexico, my ride was from 6000 to 8200 feet in elevation.

I just put on new tires/wheels, will be interesting. The rear combination is lighter, the front is heavier. Went from 26" to 27" tires/wheels. Even though I put on ITP 589 M/S's, which are mud/snow tires, they have really good hard pack characteristics. Getting ready for the snow this winter in the mountains.
