Hi. I am new to this post but not ATVing. riding for over 15 years.

Mud 8 (would probably be only a 6 or 7 except for my 400 Xplorer seems to go excellent in mud compared to most)

Slow trails 6
Fast trails 7 (due to the power/weight of the 400)

Hills 8 or 9 (if there is one thing our cattle pastures have it is hills)

Beer drinking 2

BS 10

For you guys who don't know me I live in the hills in central Nebraska, own an Xplorer 400 which I drive 95% of the time & a Honda 300 EX my dad drives 90% of the time.

Hmmm.... in the REAL mud.... maybe im being a little arrogant here, but I give myself a 10.
Out of all us local riders that usually ride together.. by bike is the only one still running, I'm the one always dedicated to go first into unknown depths of mudholes, I am the one that usually gets designated to lead the pack. When somebody swamps out or breaks.. I'm usually the one that everybody back up and running. I don't mind doing any of this though... Almost everybody in our group has a particular purpose, whether its carrying the coolers, cameras, winch truck service, field mechanic, intelligent one that brings food, idiot water depth tester, etc...
hhmm.. Trails... is this muddy trails that lead to mudholes or dried up dusty trails that leave ya with no enamel on your teeth?.. I don't care much for dry trail riding unless I'm on the Scrambler. I have yet to flip on an open trail. So I guess i'll take a 5.
Hills, On the Scrambler.. I'll blaze new trails up the side of mount Everest... I've conquered every hill, cliff, ravine, road construction pile, drainage ditch, thats known to man.. Some forwards AND backwards.. On the Scrambler, I'm still all wins, no losses... BUT, ON THE MAGNUM.. I'm just about the opposite.. Hospital Hill kicked my head in one night... I dont do hills on the Magnum anymore.. SO I get a big old 0 there.. Hill average.. 5.. And ALIVE!!

14 years experience, owned everything from a 1986 Honda FATCAT 200(Remember those?) to the ripping 400EX I have now. Other bikes have included 1970-something Yamaha 125, it was $10 in a yard sale and in pieces in a box. 1983 Honda Nighthawk 650, 1985 Kawasaki Eliminator (11sec. 1.4 mile), 1987 Suzuki Quadsport, 1990 Honda TRX300 2wd, 1992 Honda Fourtrax 250x and the two I have now. I've ridden the fast ones, Banshees, 250Rs, Quadzilla 500cc.
Mud - 6-7 I like it but haven't spent enough time in it to rate higher.
Hills - 8-9 Wife and child prevent me from being brave/stupid enough to improve rating here.
Trails - 8-9 Just when you think you are fast and good riding trails, go enter a local harescramble and get humbled. HA! Again sanity slows me.

Those are my ratings, but like others have said, safety is the real issue, I haven't done major damage (knocking on my wooden head) to any of my quads or myself in all those years.

Hmmm. I guess I'm a relative newcomer to this compared to some of you. Never have ridden a motorcycle of any kind, but I have been riding Atvs for about 9 years, some years more than others.
I flipped my father in law's 3 wheeler 3 different times before deciding to wreck my own stuff. Since I primarily ride trails (with my wife), I have the most experience here. Survey says : 7.5
The quads I have owned are all 2WD, thus my mudding is limited. Survey says: 5
I have been doing some hilling of late, and have gained some confidence. Survey says: 6
My latest episode involved a little bit of rock riding, read Marienville bike trail. I know that our Rocky mountain friends would consider this a joke, calling the bike trail a rock ride, but around here thats what we have. I handled the ride fine, although I'm not sure which got beat up worse, the bike or me. Can you say "get a skid plate, boys and girls? I knew you could". The bike doesn't have much ground clearance, so I got hung up a couple times. My lack of GC and experience dictated that I bypass the Rock Garden.
Survey says: 4.5
I really enjoy riding as well as doing all my own work and maintainance. Fun factor: 9.5

Just had my real "first" ride last week on my new SP500. I have to rate myself a 1 on all categories.

I have NEVER rode on any motorized bike in my 32 years and am absolutely LOVING this experience. I wrote in an earlier topic...just bought a cottage with 70 acres...and I am rippin it up....I think i will let my hair grow long and buy a harley next...lol....

Just a 1 for now...

Dave

Mud---If its in front of me, I'll get stuck in it.
Hills---My quad usually makes it up but I usually don't.
Trails--I usually leave some paint on every tree I pass.
