Hey bill! You have struck the jackpot on this post... You the man, dude!

Well, like everyone has been saying, I don't want to brag and I don't to say something that is not true.

Mud = 8.5 (I can usually get through what ever anyone else can with my king Quad)

Rocks (my personal favorite!) = 9 (Gotta love the differential lock on the king, I also like stream crawling, I've been up a waterfall two times, it was all steps, and did have running water flowing down it).

Trail = 8.5 (a trail is a trail)

Hill climbing = 7 (I like it, but if there is a way around a hill, I will take the easier way).

You guys are to much.Look at all the honesty in your posts. Not any bragging, not any ''Im the best''just seems like some good ole self evaluating to me.

The funny thing is though, most of us evaluate ourselves in a manner of whom we ride with and the riders we have seen in our years of riding.Thats all we really have to go on.Now say for instance, where COB lives [Greeley Colorado, I think],its suppose to be EXTREMY hilly,I think im a 7-8 on hills here in Michigan,if I were to go to Cobs riding area, would I still be an 7-8?Or vice versa?Intresting thought?====Bill

Like my earlier post said, I was 5 in the Rockies, but in Indiana riding in the hills there, I think I would rate myself an 8.5. I have been back to visit the folks and found the hills there to be a slight challenge. Mostly roots and mud mixed with leaves. The Gob piles at the coal mines are alot like some of the loose rocks we have here in Idaho, but they aren't as loose or as long a pull.

Anytime, anyone of the folks on this forum are traveling through the Boise area and you have your Quad in tow, let me know. I'll ride at just about the drop of a hat. I just need 2 days notice, one in a pinch.

Well on my sp6x6
hills 10
mud 10
trails 3
explorer
hills 9
mud 7
trails 8 I guess you guys can figure out why a
high rating on hills & mud with the 6x6,you just
have to give it gas.I was riding last weekend
at Bigrock in KY with the explorer & was one of the few people there hill climbing. It was real
slick because of rain.Like alot of other people
have said trails that used to be scary are now a
breeze & as my partner said you find yourself
riding like you stole it.

TF would you be saying that Bill is the Bo Derek of riding ability? So to speak.

Precisely, tempest!

(Of course, with all respect due Ms. Derek, I considered riding ability alone!)

Bill:
I've enjoyed reading all the responses to the post-good one by the way. It's funny you mentioned the thing about judging ourselves by who we ride with, I was just talking to Trailboss about that same topic. I've got a total of 2 people I get to ride with-my Dad about once a month, if he's not working and my buddy every other week or so. Other than that, I'm by myself. As a result, here goes:
Mud 3. It's so thick and heavy in most places, it's impossible to get through. I'll try it, but usually always end up getting stuck, unless it's watery, then it's no problem.
Trails 7. I run mostly deer or elk trails, so I've gotten pretty used to them, they go in and out of everything imaginable.
Hills 6-7. I'm OK going up or down, but sidehilling steep stuff still makes me a little nervous!
Rocks 1. Really never rode in any flat out rocky areas, don't know what it's like.
Sitting around the campfire at the end of the day reminising about the preveous occurances perfect 10!

Now, should I end up back in your area, or with Cob, I'd be lucky to be a 1 strait across the board, with the exception of the later!

Good thinking!

Mike
