Default Polaris starters

I've heard some complaints about starters getting water in them so when I decided to put mine on ebay I took it apart first. I was expecting to see some corrosion but much to my suprise it looks like it hasn't had a drop of water in it. Polaris apparently took care of that problem. Either that or you did a good job of keeping the recoil housing sealed

How many people have removed their starters, and how much of a pain was it? I am thinking about removing the starter and getting a battery elimination kit. But I am kinda lazy and like the electric start idea. Been using the pull start for a few months now need to put new brush kit on mine.
