2004 Scrambler 500 Aftermarket Parts?
#1
Anyone have any contacts for aftermarket 2004 Scrammy parts? I'm looking to make a few changes. Rear shock-JUNK!! I weigh aprox. 140 pounds and on the lowest setting I feel as if I bottom out when I come off a jump. And the handling is crappy. I have it set on the second from the highest- and I'm okay with it there but the shock just doesn't have the response I'm looking for? Any suggestions for a replacement?-While I'm at it might as well do the front too! Suggestions? Also I'd like to make a clutching change or transmission ratios change so that I can get the front end up if I need to for instance when I cross a creek or drainage ditch. I have no idea which. Any suggestions as which change-least costly and easiest! And what products to use?(Brand wise)

You can get a shock from a 00-03 scrambler. They were the Fox shock with the resiviour. Then have it revalved by PEP or Hot Seat to your liking. Hot Seat also carries Fox struts for the front. Or, you can get the Works struts for a little cheaper. Both are rebuildable and revalveable.
If all you want is to bring up the front end a little, Try either a Polaris white or green primary spring. Both have a higher engagement than the stock.

Yo Yo, whats up BBS ! Isnt the green and white have different purposes? one is more torque or faster? is it easy to install? any pictures of where you change this ? Id like to attempt this upgrade. I agree about the shocks ACA.

The green has a little more engagment and a little more shfit rate than the white spring. Go with the white spring and a slip on exhaust like White Bros or FMF.On the rear spring get one from a 2000-2003 Scrambler.I wouldnt mess with the front until they mess up.

The primary spring is a piece of cake ot change. Just remove the clutch cover. Then remove the 6 small bolts on the primary clutch cover and the 1 large center bolt. The you can put the new spring in. Make sure you re-align the "X". Then torque the 6 small bolts to 90 in lbs and the cente bolt to 40 ft lbs

Thanks BBScrm- I don't have alot of experience in the aftermarket parts department. I've always just kept everything stock. I'm very excited to customize my ATV! Thanks for the info!!

What kind of terrain do you ride? If it is mostly trails and top end speed isnt a big deal to you, I would also suggest getting an HPD violet secondary spring and set it on the 2-2 position. This is a very good set-up for trails
