Well you use it to upload your phone book and stuff to your computer. That way if you loss your phone or break it you can upload the phone book and other information onto your new one. I have around 350 names and numbers in my phone so it is VERY handy. Thats what the Truesync does. I use the data kit as a internet connection for my laptop, works just like a landline phone for a dial up connection. I use DSL when I'm at home however. I use my digital camara to take pictures so I never got the software for that. I bet if you called Motorola (1-800-331-6456) they could give you a web address to download the software, or ship you a CD with the software on it. They close at 7pm CST so you would have time to call them today. Good luck!

The cost for the cable is around $30. Cable
I'm not a 100% if they charge for the software or not. If you used to own the software and lost it I wouldn't think it would cost you to get it replaced. The Truesync does cost money however. Truesync is a company by themselfs, Motorola doesn't write that software they just sell it with there data kits. Data kit
