Default Dont flame me but WTH was polaris thinking?

I was just reading the dirtwheels mag and that hog rings in a 770! IT weights more then it's motor size? I mean come on, 760 & call it an 800? I was SO pumped to see the info then I was totally let down when I read the specs. Thing is WAY to heavy!

I have the new '05 700 EFI, and yesterday riding, my friend on his '05 Kawasaki Brute Force couldn't keep up. In a drag race, he would pull a bike lead and that was it, and I have 27" ITP 589's on my machine and my machine according to specs weighs the same as the 800, which I think the 800 will be slightly more since it has dual exhaust.

If you want a sport ATV, buy a sport ATV, if you want a stump pulling, hill climbing, all-around Utility ATV, stick with the Polaris. Although I have to say, I can slide the 700 + pound machine around the corners pretty well.

The 800 is suppose to weigh the same as a 700 yet will have approx 25% more power. I do believe its deceiving to call it and 800 but if you get 25% more power I wont care.

polaris website shows 765 lbs for the 700 twin, so that's 5 lbs less than what you thought.

i know the Sportsman holds it's own and hides it's weight well, but could you IMAGINE how much FUN a 100lb lighter Sportsman would be?..........

MudStud Thats funny coming from someone that rides a very heavy sport quad. As a matter of fact they tested the new ds650 in the same issue and the reviews were not good on the ds650.

More weight = more traction in most situations. This thing isn't for racing.
