Default Clutch Preload

The other day I thought I blew my belt apart. When i took the cover off all looked fine. Turned out one of the screws for my rollers started to back out and and was rubbing on the other half of the clutch causing it not to shift properly. I noticed the little holes for the preload, but couldn't see what was suppose to lock in them. This was the first time I have ever had to go into a secondary. I have read posts for preload on some quads but am I suppose to preload my clutch on an 04 Sportsman 500 with EBS.

Yes, 1/3 turn counterclockwise then you push the helix all the way in and put the snap ring on.
