More bottom end! Scrambler 500 4x4
Whats the best and easist way to get more low end torque / power? Could I put a one or two tooth smaller sprocket on the drive without adverse 4x4 effects? Or should I change the clutch setup? Or do both? I don't need a 60 mph 4x4. 50 or so would be fine. Thanks!

MY clutch is setup for a higher engagement. ftwflh has a Dalton primary spring from Rick Ritter @ RCR that has the low engagement with faster shift out that he likes. The secondary on the 2-2 with a HPD violet secondary spring is awsome in the trails. Give Rick a call and have him set you up with a Dalton spring. A good pipe (HPD) or slip-on (White Bros) will help too.

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

For me to get better botom end I got the best results from the White Bros muffler then with a clurch spring change I went with a Dalton black/white it is cose to the Polaris green.I have now went with a Polaris yellow for more rpms on the top and a low engagement. You can also try a heavier set of shift weights like a S58 or 10/58 this should get you to stay in low gear longer before it shifts out.
