Took a test ride on a 01 Sportsman 400 this past weekend. I did notice that it has the stainless brake lines but does anyone know if it also has all of the other upgrades as the 500HO? I was in a big hurry and didn't have time to talk to the dealer very long to find out. I did find out that he is pretty firm on the price of $6200. I can get an 00 335 for $5500 or an 01 400 for $6200. Are the upgrades worth the extra $700?

Well worth the xtra 700. Same around here they wont budge at all, they have a 2000 Trail Boss, it is list still 3499, he told me he will sell it for that he has no need to come down on any prices, it is the same everywhere around here. They sell them all before the snow flies. Once in a while they will have deal on a quad, but it is only a couple hundred bucks.

Stacy Hardware, go up 35 to the stacy exit. a couple of blocks to the right. I really like this guy, I know a few people that have had great luck with him.

Look around. I can get 2000 500's at $6100 withing 25 miles, and I can get an HO for $6300 in southwestern Missouri. That sounds high for a 400, but then again it is a new model and demand will be higher.

MNXplorer, have you pesonally had bad luck there? I have heard alot of good things about them. They did a great job on my TBoss (I didn't buy it there)
A friend is buying an HO there in about a week, I'd like to hear if you know of problems...

No, a buddy of mine bought a 00'xplorer 400 there. The oil pump was never adjusted! The bike was burning about a quart every 100 miles, thats twice as rich as it should be! His front end alignment was off by over an inch! He ate his front tires half way down in about 400 miles. This is not what I call great service! When he tried to get it in too get these problems fixed , they told him it would be 4 wks before they could look at it!I know lots of folks that have purchased sleds there with the same results! I don't know maybe I'm spoiled by my dealer. If I have a problem with mine its fixed in a couple of days at most but, Pinetown Sports is also a small Ma&Pa operation. If you want decent service and the low price try Moose lake Implament or EZ sports in Mora.
