I need new tires I want to get taller tires 26"...
I have searched on three forums and I think i have decided that spring spacers are the best and cheapest way for me to ride on 26" tall tires on the front of my 700 efi. Where can i get these spacers I have seen all different types from pipe to some sort of clamp to polaris spacers. Only the polaris spacers can i find.. What are the best type to use and is 2" spacer the way to go? If so where can i get these I read the polaris spacers are not too good, no reason why just what i read. Any help would be great guys.

I don't know why you think you need spring spacers to run 26" tires. You may have to put wheel spacers on the front tires if you run a tire too wide on the stock rims for they will rub the tie rod ends. To keep from putting wheel spacers on it you can sometimes flip the tie rod ends to the bottom of the mount and solve that problem. Spring spacers just raise the front to give you fender clearance.

Astro,
If you want even cheaper use a couple of hockey pucks instead of the steel spacers, just drill a aprox. 2" hole in them to fit over the shock, I put them under my front springs of my 04.5 700EFI and my front tire don't rub the fenders at all any more, unless I hit something really hard. I run mud-lites 26x12x10 on the front and 26x12x12 rear. You do have to put the wheel spacers in if you run any thing wider than an 8 inch tire on the fron though.
Also I have noticed an improvement in steering and handling around corners, the front end doesn't dive when your given'er hard in the corners.
You dont get anymore clearance by doing this ,but you definetly stiffen up the front end.

you don't need spring spacers, you need wheel spacers or offset wheels to run the 26's....or you can sell it and buy a 2005 and run up to 27's with no contact, just as long as they are 9's....not sure if you can find 28's with a 9 width, so thats why i didn't say 28's....
i've heard of people putting the 27x9-12 on their '04 machines without them hitting....need to do a search
