scrambler 500's 2/4 wheel option and performance
in 4wd the steering is just a bit heavier, but not bad. when shifting from 4 in to 2, its just a flick of a switch just above the thumb throttle. just need to let off the gas while you do it. polaris recommends the you dont shift either direction while accelerating.
its really the easiest to use AWD set up out there i think.
as far as fuel economy, its hard to say. i mainly ride in 2wd most of the time, unless i see a sticky situation, or if im riding in snow. 4wd in the snow is a dream! in 2wd you can do wheelies and blip the throttle and throw the back end around with ease in tight trails.
i love my scrambler 500. i dont know if ill ever own anything else. unless they come out with a 700 scrambler!

Yes, I would think there is a little better fuel economy in 2wd vs 4wd, but I'm always roostin in 2wd so there goes any gas milage!
I couldn't ride a 4x4 quad that didn't offer a 2/4wd switch! Period!
