Joe, Good luck with the sport/utility kit. It is definately not the plowing one! I hope it makes you as happy as it made me.

Bill, if the Scram kit is the same as the Xplorer one I would be glad to let you try it. It's just sitting in the garage. We Xplorer riders have to stick together.

JOEMAG500,as you can see by my signature, I have almost the same mods exactly. Put it this way if I'm on grass or tar in high range my Xplorer front end reachs for the sky or digs a nice rut when the throttle is hammered and I have a winch! Yet when I ease into it, it comes on nice and easy almost as smooth as stock. It is worlds better at backshifting than stock and provides substancal acceleration gains even on topend. My Problem now is tires, are the Bearclaws really that good? I've been looking at them and wasn't sure about there wear factor. How are yours doing verses stock? Mine stockers are 3/4's worn out at 1000 miles! Spinning them is just too much fun I guess!

Finally, somebody to back up my claims on the EPI!

For the past two months, I too was in the tire delema. I am getting the 25" Bearclaws tomorrow. Joe said he loves his and after months of research and reading a couple articles I decided on the claws. According to the reviews they are almost as smooth as stock, with tons more traction and better turning. I can't wait to see... At least they will weigh less than my 45 pound mudrunners. Yes!! the speed will be back!

Allright,
MNXPLORER and Xplor,Can one of you guys supply me with the part number to the EPI clutch kit?I will probably be removing the EBS and going back to stock clutching on my 00 Xplorer.

Im going to try the primary spring first,if that is not to my liking, than I'll be sporting the EPI kit.You two guys convinced me.====Bill

I have been watching this topic and getting real excited waiting to see a part# for the clutch kit. I have a 00 Xplorer 400 and this sounds just like the kit I am looking for. But I have not seen any response come back with the #. If one of you guys that has the kit installed could post the part # I would be very thankful. As soon as the funds come availabe I am planning to make an order, it sounds like you guys are more than happy with what you got.

Bill,
If you remove the EBS from your Xplorer, you wouldn't be interested in selling it, would you?

Hey Guys~
My uncle just ordered a clutch kit for his 1997 Explorer 400 4X4. He got the "aggressive" kit from HPD. He plans to install it tomorrow and I am going to his house to compare it to my 400 Explorer and 400 Scrambler. Neither of us have had any experience with clutch kits so we'll see how much of a gain the kit really gives. I'll post again tomorrow night about the results.
