We have an 02 sportsman 500HO at home that we use quite often for short trips out back and I take it up north once and a while for hunting. It has about 1800 miles on it now, and I hate to say it, but I think I am probobly falling way behind on some maintainance issues with it. I change the engine oil really often and grease all the Zerts really often as well, replace the air filter, belt, clutch twice, and I just changed the fluid in the front hubs.
I was wondering if you guys could tell me exactly what else I should be doing? I am assuming tranny fluid, and I think the front transfer case (there is one right?) Is there more fluid in back or is it just the tranny? What about the valves, they probobly need adjusting by now right? Any info would be great.

I spend so much time on my sleds and predator that the sportsman gets neglected a little bit. It runs pretty good most of the time, it just has a starting issue, it doesn't always start real well.

Whats type of battery do you guys recomend for this machine? I was told to get a gel-cel battery, is that correct? The battery that is in there has been crappy since day one. In cold weather we always have to pull the rope. :/
