Another post I have read here several times, but as of yet cannot locate the clicking in the rear of the SP I own. Tried applying brakes while backing up, no change. Had someone walk along side while I backed up, can't locate it. If this problem is being noticed by several owners, has anyone contacted Polaris to see about a recall?

clicking could mean alot of things..id start with the hubs.take off the hub cap and pull the cotter pin on the wheel and remove the nut..check the spline on the hub to see if its stripped..if not that try checking all your u joints one at a time, especially the one on the output shaft of the tranny..ive heard people say both of these will cause clicking noise going slow backing up or turning it while you go either direction..if not there it maybe axle bearings..good luck

My clicking noise was my rear axle bearings on one side were shot. In my case it turned out to be a factory flaw as there was no spacer between the bearings. Polaris payed for the repair.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON MY '96 TRAILBOSS.TRIED NEW AXLE BEARINGS AND REAR BRAKE PADS.SOMEONE ON THIS SITE SUGGESTED I GREASE THE HUB SPLINES.AFTER DOING THAT,I HAD NO MORE PROBLEMS!
IT'S WORTH A TRY AND CHEAPER THAN BEARINGS.
GOOD LUCK

Had clicking on the rear of the Xpresss I used to have. Was the rear splines on one wheel. Make sure the axle nuts are tight. Greasing the splines might not hurt, either. Around here stripped hubs seem to be fairly common, happening to every brand I can think of except for Suzuki, and that's probably because I only know of one guy who has one & he drives pretty careful.
