Default SPORTSMAN REAR FENDER EXTENSIONS

Just finished fabricating the rear fender extensions for my 400sp, I was tired of getting covered after the first hole I went through. I checked out factory ones first and the didn't fit properly and still didn't cover complete tire. Hope to have pics on hear in next couple of days. It cost in total about $20 to build. couple of metal brackets and some 4" lawn edging. I'm impressed with the way it turned out

Ya we would stop after riding a ways and all the other guys with Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki would hardly have a spot on them and I'm covered. I built these out of lawn edging and used push in plastic clips to fasten . I'll get some pics on here in a day or two. The great thing is if you tear one or rip one off it takes 5 mins to cut and drill a replacement. 35 ft roll of this stuff was $5.00

Thats because the yamaha honda and kawasaki's dont have the *** to throw mud like the polaris do.hehe.It wasnt a big deal with the stock rawhides but then I went with the mudlites and 10in wide on the front so I had to but 1in spacer on it.So now almost half the front tires outside the fender well.

I don't think that its the rears where you get covered in mud but the fronts. on my 04.5 500 the front tires flip mud up underneath the front fender flare onto the rear fenders. I think some fender extension on the back would be nice too.

Hey all

I eliminated most of the fnt tire throwing mud onto the rear fender trouble. I used a set of plastic truck bed caps and traced a pattern in cardboard to align the outer edges of the fnt and rear fender flares and the tranfered the pattern to the cap and cut out. The 90 degree bend mated perfectly to the floorboard. I used 3m moulding tape and some body clips to secure and waaalaaa no more mud (cow pies) on the rear fenders.

nice idea Kingsclear, can't wait to see the pics. I put the 27-9-12's Mudlites on the front of mine and the 12's on the rear but wish I'd have went with the 10's on the rear now. check out my gallery.

I've watched this pretty closely and it is definitely the backs that are putting the mud on me and my rear seat where my gear is usually setting. My wife took one look at my bike after a ride one time and has refused to sit in that seat since. It looks like some one shoveled it in
