How do change a rear cv boot on a Sportsman?
Remove the tire
remove the hub
remove upper control arm bolt from bearing carrier
remove both lower control arm bolts from bearing carrier
tip hub outward and seperate shaft from hub
I believe you need to seperate the shaft from the transmission and that is done by "pulling sharply" on the shaft and it should dislodge from the tranny.
that should allow you to change out the boots.
change both since you have it apart.
Info above is straight out of the service book. Good Luck.
