Ok, got “the scoop” on the Phoenix today. I have been having a host of problems lately, the engine surges, runs erratically, stalls, backfires. I took it back to the dealer for a look. He stated that it was the “stator” he also said that Polaris has issued “Many Bulletins” for the Phoenix from #’s 000001 to 0001500 (mine falls RIGHT in there) The top issues Polaris KNEW about but DID NOTHING was the:

Rear Drum Brake (useless)
Oil breather hose (rubs on frame and leaks)
The Stator (prone to failure)
Headlight Assembly (can POP out when you hit a bump) like mine did!!

He then went on and said they cannot wait for the 2006 to come in…”they are almost all new” from my model.

Anyhow what a mistake it was. I spent $200+ for a new stator and I am going to put it in myself (the warrantee expired 8/10)

I want to thank everyone for your help with this so called ATV, Polaris continues to annoy me beyone belief, they just will not stand behind their product. Even the dealer will not take the 2005 Phoenix as a trade in for a new Polaris, I have since bought a new Suzuki Ozark and words cannot describe what a difference. I think I now know what an atv is. As for the phoenix we are mulling over filling it with gas and dropping a match in it, I will post pictures when we get to it.

All the best to you Polaris owners......

Well to clear up a few things... hehe! My Phoenix got stolen 4 weeks ago (thank God for that, and inshurance :-)
It seem my quad has been a real monday quad. NON of the other bikes that has been sold in Norway (or scandinavia) have had any of the same failiures that I had (so they told me).

I had problems with:
The battery charager (had to change some electrical thingy)
The discbreakes rear (calipter problems)
Carburator
The starter
The ignition

In the end all got fixed, and then it got stolen.. he he

Now I am the happy ovner of a Kodiac instead :-)

PS! Til deg som er svensk. Min Phoenix 200 gikk 70km/t

Just be carefull. When it breaks down on them and they bring it back you might have some splaining to do to the insurance company.

Well its at the dealer right now and I quote him. "We are going to fix anything that is broken, and anything that is not"
Polaris did extend the warantee another (6) months so the ATV went in to get updated I guess, when I get it back I was going to ask for $2500 OBO (its only 7 months old)
