Shiny is Faster - Jet Hot Rock'n Predator
Winter time built up is finally done on my Predator, some new exhaust mods, and top secret Aerospace Engineered re-design on the E-series muffler, more flow without too much noise, plus instant silent-threado module adapter for hush mode as required. Yup, this one simple home made mod hasn't been seen yet on the web as far as I know.
Details to follow, but the calibrated sphinctometer of my butt says alot more mid and upper range pull.
also braided stainless steel cooling sleeve to give more surface area over billet in-line units.
See my pic gallery. Time to get back to the lab for more research and testing.

Actually the dog loves to be chased on my figure 8 track in the back yard, and damn he's fast with his 4 paw drive.........
Geez I hate eating roost off your own dog. Heh.
Yup, I love having 2 preds, one Troy Lee is bone stock, then the other TLD preddy is my modded up unit. No comparison between the stock and modded power bands.

Yup, I was one of the first guys to post about predator when I got my first 2003 TLD about soon after they were released from the factory, I think my first born on date sticker shows Nov 17, 2002, and I bought it on Dec 7th. I think the serial number shows that it was number 451 off the assy line.
After 1 year of sheer bliss riding the Troy Lee Predator, I traded off my 404cc big bore banshee for my 2nd Troy Lee Predator, but the funny thing is even though I bought them a year apart, the second Predator was even made the same week as my first one.
I still think the first year colors of Troy Lee were the best, I just can't come to like the new orange........

Hey Heapster
Looks Great!!! Where did you get it done? There is a place in Kent that does it Performance coating I think. Man it sure shines!!!
How do you like the Pure pipe?
I have a CFM air box and not sure what type of pipe to get????? I live in Lynnwood and ride at Moses Lake and the 93 dcbs at Oregon Coast. I am leaning to a HFM with a quite core but not sure
Any Ideas?
Thanks
Mike

The HMF is loud.....I don't have the quite core, the spark arrester makes it alittle quiter. But hands down it has to be one of the best pipes for the Pred if not the best. I'm running a 170 main, I was running a 172.5 but I was alittle rich, i'm going to see if I can fine tune it with the 170....I just put the jet in today, I was not able to ride it, do to the rain. I need to have it running good by the weekend. This will be the 1st race of the year.

Calling a HMF "loud" is an understatement, I've felt my chest getting riddled with exhaust pulses when riding 25-30' behind a wide open HMF or Big Gun type exhaust. WAY too loud for the west coast Oregon sound levels.
I sent my header down to Jet Hot in Tempe Arizona......they're the best coating that "everyone else compares to, so why not go for the best" Only $55 to coat the head pipe and $10 a heat shield.
I've got some more pictures to post of my new exhaust mod, a tunable for the instant application whether quiet or open core to race. Basic easy mod to the End cap of the E-series. Never seen anything like this on the web yet, so be surprised when you see it. heh heh.
And hey Tick Man, PM me and we'll go for a ride out on my "private" test track out back of my place in Sultan.......you'll love it.
