Has anyone put the 800 snorkle on a 700 if so how big is the opening? The reason I ask is I was riding this weekend and my 700 would stall out when I would try to climb a hill in high range. It was like it was flooding out of curiosity I pull the 4 bolts out of the snorkle and took it off. Man It was like a different machine no more stalling and it will hit top speed alot faster. I am currently running it with no snorkle and would like to modify the 700 snorkle or buy a 800 snorkle if its big enough. I need the snorkle to be as big as the opening on the air box lid.

You can make your own. You can get som pvc pipe and elbows from Home depot/Lowes and adapt your own. I have seen it done lots of times. I know the stock snorkle is very restrictive. I can take mine off of my 330 and it would run alot stronger but I do alot of creek riding so I have to deal with the lower power.

No my snorkle is clear it has also been cut down to where the opening is bigger for more flow. Its just to restrictive and when I took it off it ran so much better.

I also do alot of creek riding so I don't want to leave it off. I might go to the local hardware store and make me a snorkle. Thanks

If anyone with the 800 if you could measure the top of the snorkle and tell me how big it is I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

The top of the 800 snorkle is about the same size as the opening in the air box. I'll see if I can get some pics for you in a second. I have one on my 600.

How do you guys keep the clutch from getting wet? We have an 02 sportsman 500HO, and Every time I go in water I end up sitting there unable to move because the damn clutch got wet. Last year I replaced all the seals around the clutch housing and used silicone, but I haven't had it in too much water since then. I don't know if it was the seals or if the water gets in the snorkle on the clutch housing.

Sorry, I don't mean to steal the thread, but I figureed this is pretty close to the same topic.

Can you get any gains by modifying the airbox snorkle on a 500HO or is the stock snorkle sufficient for the smaller motor?

Pics are up

got2gofast, I think theres some seals in back (behind the clutches) that can leak. I've never had a problem with mine, I even had it floating once and didn't get any water in it but I was going slow.

Good Luck, Jeff
