I was told that Polaris has addressed the rattling problems with the u-joints on previous 6-700 models- this was supposed to be fixed on the 800's - yeah right !.....I like almost everything about my new 800 except for that noise and vibration on my feet ... Anyone else with an 800 notice this ?...... Sounds like something is gonna let loose !... Another thing I found out is that the front and rear storage is NOT watertight - I have found water in both compartments after mudding and hitting water... Other than this, I am very happy with it so far....I'm debating on whether to buy an extendeded warranty when the factory one expires.. Thanks in advance for your opinions and comments

 

Check the motor mount bolts for that rattle.

 

mine rattles a little (less than buddies 03 700), usually just down hills. supposed to be normal. bike still rocks though. If this happens to a car I just put a bigger stereo system in it. I'm just a water proof MP3 player, marine amp, and marine speakers away from hooking up the 800.

 

I checked my motor mount bolts and every other bolt in the frame and looked for anything that was loose - I didn't find anything out of the ordinary.... I think it's just the differentials clunking - I notice the noise and vibration the most when I goose it and let off the throttle and then goose it again - even at low speeds..... Does this sound normal ?....... It's got some serious backshift when letting off the throttle

 

LOL that is the EBS grabbing when you let of the throttle My /04 600 does that same noise. Slack in the differentials My dealer recommended putting in a grease fitting?They dont grese enough from the Factory. You get used to it.If you engage slowly then giver what happens? It will not be as bad?

Mudlover, it's not as bad when I ease into the throttle but my 2000 Sportsman 500 does not make this noise ever- I do have greaseable fittings on that one and it also has EBS -- It does not have near the backshift of the 800 and the 500 has an EPI clutch kit in it for bigger tires... Have you rode the 800 EFI yet ??.... You owe it to yourself because it rocks... I'll see if I can install some grease Zerks or something to help out this noise - No big deal I guess I'll get used to it..... My brotherinlaw has an 04 Sportsman 600 and his clunks worse than mine - Hopefully it'll hold together for a while

 

I've noticed the same noise a well as a vibration on the floorboard and pegs. It seems to be more on the left side, so I'm assuming that it's normal from the belt and clutch. It does feel like the enging is coming loose in the frame sometimes, though, but I checked everything and all looks good. I think I'm going to bring it to the dealer, just so it's documented in case anything serious comes of it.

 

Yea, mine does the same thing, so I quess its normal. If you do find an answer or can get it toned down let me know.
