My friend is selling his 04 sp 500. it has 550 miles on it and he wants 5100 but he will sell it to me for 4500// Ive always been a yamaha fan, and i just need a little info about this quad// How does it handle in deep water and mud,/ is there any problems with the tranny in deep water// The kelly blue book said its worth $5015

The 500 are great atv's you can't go wrong with it. It's a great mud machine and I have seen 500's in deep water with no problem but I never take my 700 deep maybe up to the bottom of the seat with no problems. $4500.00 sounds good.

 

My new 400 was 5800, so I'd say that that is a pretty good deal. You won't be disappointed with that quad, it leaves you with very little to ask for. I have had my 400 in water up to the seat, so I don't think you'd have any problems with a 500, which supposedly is a lot more powerful than the 425's. I have never had any of my Polaris's get water in the tranny while underwater, even after some serious mud and water. Hope you make the right choice, whichever you feel that is.
