Default Sportsman 700 4wd help!!!! Please!!!

I Turn the switch on the handle bar and my 4-wheeler does not switch into 4wd.
Nothing happens at all. I just need help on where to begin to look for the problem.
I have checked the battery, wires and all connections and everything looks fine. Any suggestions of what might be wrong?
It's a 2003 model and I have only been on it about 4 times.
Please help!!!!

Thanks so Much,
Manda

Don't worry just yet. Your machine sort of has a limited slip like a truck. Your 4X4 will not kick in until the back wheels slip. Have you been stuck and it won't engage or are you just wanting to drive around with all 4 wheels pulling?

I noticed in your other post you need a speedometer if your speeometer don't work it will cause your 4wd not to work.

If the only thing that quit working on your speedo is you mph needle then your hall effect sensor is bad or dirty. If your 4wd quit and other thing on your speedo quit then you need a new speedo. Your 4wd is run threw the speedo and when the speedo goes out so does your 4wd.

Mandy talk to your dealer and ask them if any recalls on this type of issue or even call polaris.
if your speedo is not working then it could be related. What happens when you put in reverse and push override button?Does it engage?
