So now who is going to find us an alternative to paying $30.00 for a spring

While I'm all for cheaper prices.... You get something extra when you buy that spring from knowledgable people... You get the security that people like Rick Ritter and Aaen won't sell ya something just because "you heard from a buddy whos got this friend that did such and such..... and his bike is faster now"
Dealerships, for the most part, don't know anything beyond what came in it out of the factory... Every once awhile you will find a mechanic that half way understands the spring, weight, helix dynamics... But, they are few and far between.
I bought a spring from RCR (white) for the Scrambler and paid $30 or $35. I had already attempted to buy the spring from the dealership for $20, problem is they said it didn't have the white spring from the factory. They kept trying to sell me the green, which I had previously installed. (differences between 97 and 98+)
Anyway, if you KNOW what spring rate you're looking for, my dealer sells all primary and secondary springs for $20 each. Thing is, there ain't no refund or technical department if you get undesired results.

Buy it from Rick. I did. If you've never spoken with Rick Ritter, you'll find that he is without a doubt, the friendliest most helpful guy that you could hope to find.
If you buy from the dealer, and don't like the results, you'll probably end up putting that spring in a drawer. Rick would most likely let you exchange it for something more to your liking.
I ordered mine yesterday. Give me a week to let you know what it does for the 500 Scrambler.
