Default Looking to wake up a 90Ccc

Hey all,
I bought my grandson a 02 scrambler 90 so he could ride with me, he's 11 but is 5'2" and about 105lbs.
I should step him up to a 125cc but he needs to do some learning first, so what I'm looking to do is wake this thing up. I have heard that the engine has a lot of restricted power, I have also read that they do something with the CDI to step down the power. Can anybody give me some pointers?? CDI? Pipe? Crab? K&N Filter? ect..
Thanks for any help.

There is no limit to what you can do. Look at the Kids quads section in this forum. Also I would highly recomend visiting MiniAtvs. Look up Jon (Raptor720). I'm not sure if your CDI has the green wire or not, but if it does you can cut it to let the quad rev higher. I replaced the stock air filter with one I made out of TwinAir filter material. I just used the stock one as a template. A good pipe and clutch kit are a must. With all of that you'll want to jet it correctly.
