I have a loud noise coming from the left side of engine by my foot when riding? Is that a bad belt?

Is it a thumpy slappy sound if so it more then likly is take it apart and look .

Could also be the pulley scraping the cover. This happens sometimes when enought weight gets put on it to warp it. Usually happens when one uses it as a step or footrest.
