Default sp700 clutch

Ihave a 05 sp700 carb. Would pitting a clutch kit in it take away from the life of the belt? My machine seems to hit a flat spot at around 40mph. Is this normal for the machine I have around 26hrs on it now. Will it break in and inprove or what? I am new to belt drives, any advise would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Putting a clutch kit in will not hurt your belt. The kits are grabbing your belt better causing less slipping there for extending your belt life I would think.

Oh yea make sure you use low range when you are suppose to this will also help the belt last.

I agree with 70003.
THe acceleration pull drops off after 40 mph on mine (and all stock sp) too.
