Default Drive Train Noise???

Hey just got my '05 Sp 700. Have about 25 miles on it and love it. But i notice there is quite a bit of backlash noise coming from the drive train. Kinda sounds like free play in the rear end of a pick up. Is this normal ? Called the dealer and he said all the new 600, 700 and 800 have the same sound. Something to do with the drive line angle. Or am i just paranoid???

Every Sportsman ever made has a noisy drivetrain. It is completely normal. You will get used to it and wont even notice it after a while. They clunk and rattle. If they didnt its not a Polaris! Dont worry. Just ride and be happy. Welcome to the forum.

Default Drive Train Noise???

I have a 05 500 HO and over the Memorial day weekend I had such a loud grinding when I did some hard turns and slowing up and speeding up the noise would come and go and then just stay on.

Dealer tells me the EBS in the transmission makes this noise when it engages and disengages and for me not to worry about it. I thought maybe it was the front differential where the clutches to engage the front axles were slipping and not meshing smoothly.

If you have some loud grinding nosie I would take it back to the dealer and make them fix it. I have never heard any grinding from mine.
