Default Clutching for wheelies

Ok Gentlemen here is my question. 2000 Scrambler 400 4x4 see mods in my sig.

I would like to clutch my bike a little better so I can see the sky. Right now it has a blue primary spring with an hsp clutch kit. It has a high engagement but it seems to slip alot before it fully engages. it really flies from mid to top but doesn't do much at the bottom until the clutch finally grabs. I have a new belt to put on but was wondering if you guys had any advice on a different spring for me. I would like it to still engage higher than stock but I want it to lock in hard instead of slip. Thanks for any help.

Eric

Heavier fly weights and you will see the sky and less belt slippage too. You don,t want them too heavy or they will load the motor too much . What size weights are you running now ?

i would think that hsps kit would be pretty well set up. after i put a new belt on my tb it was all sky on take off... ...until the belt wore out again.

I'm not too sure what weights are in there. the person that had the bike before me did the clutch. Is there a good way to tell if the belt is worn out. It looks ok to me but this is my first polaris so I wouldn't know what worn out looked like.

No not at all there are set up for the average rider of average weight and ability. I do not care who you buy your kit from unless you specify mods , your weight the type of riding you do. there will always be tweaking that you can do.

too tell if your belt is worn look for flat spots , glasing , and measure the width of it I am not too sure of the stock width though you will have to look it up , when and if you do change your belt clean your clutches with brake cleaner and give a light sanding with emory cloth on the faces of both the primary and secondary clutches just to take off any residue .
