My next car: 2006 Pontiac Solstice
#41
My last two sports cars were a 2003 Nissan 350Z with Nismo suspension which totaled when the shoulder of the road gave way at 30MPH :-( and my current Honda S2000. I personally like the Solstice design a lot. The tonnaeu cover is sweet and it actually looks decent with the top up. I hope for GMs sake that the quality is high. If so, they will knock the cover off the ball.
I really miss my Z car. it handled great and had loads of torque. The S handles incredibly and has a serious kick in the high rpms. Both of these cars will do just about everything better than the Solstice, but the price vs. value ratio is fantastic.
I LOVE the performance of the new Vettes and the interior FINALLY looks pretty good. I want to find a really good deal on a year old Vette owned by a 68 year old doctor that didn't drive the car much because his wife would throw out her hip getting in and out...

No thats not a MAZDASPEED, according to Mazda: "Coming in early summer, the MAZDASPEED6 will feature a direct-injected turbocharged 2.3L engine, 6-speed manual," LOL, I am quite confused with Mazda's web site. I am not sure they know what they are making!! LOL.. I think I am going to take your word on the Miata MWfromVA.. I can't even find the M-5 anymore!! Seems like everytime I look at that site, there is some other spec for their engines. I went to Motortrend's website to verify the 06 was a 2L and normally aspirated.

It's easier when you understand the different vehicles that Mazda makes. The Mazda 6 is a 4 door sedan (there are other variants, but I'm keeping it simple). Mazdaspeed is Mazda's "performance" division, hence making the Mazdaspeed6 a tuned up sport sedan.
There is also a Mazdaspeed version of the Miata for sale now that is a 2005 model with a turbocharged 1.8L engine.
The key thing to understand here is that there IS a new Miata coming in just a few months that is bigger, faster, and totally redesigned. I'm just hoping you'll check it out before you buy a Solstice. You'll probably see the new Miata on dealer lots before you see the Solstice anyways due to the setbacks mentioned above by the guy (who sounds legitimate!) at the GM proving grounds.
