The Miata has two models in 2006: the Miata M5 and the Miata MX5

I'm not going to say that's not true, however I can't say I believe it either. M5 would be a model designation held by BMW, copyrighted if you will, so that no other manufacturer could call their car M5. Just like you don't see a Dodge Mustang floating around...

I'm pretty sure the new Mazda Miata will be dubbed, just as the current one is, MX-5.

and saturns are junk, they might have good value, but all it is a big chunk of worthlessness

The Solstice and Sky are basically the same car with different sheet metal - as pretty much all of Saturns have been in the past, GM rebadges.

As for the Miata being the g@y car status symbol, I tend to agree with you up until the 06 Miata is released, then I'll have to start disagreeing.

I think the big advantage of the Solstice over the Miata is that the Solstice has longer wheel base, wider track, wider tires and bigger engine. It does that in the same length as the Miata. Although the MX5 has the same horsepower, it uses a turbo-charger to get it. I prefer a normally aspirated engine.

05 MX5 Length: 155
05 MX5 Track: 56.7
05 MX5 Wheelbase: 89.2

Solstice Length: 157
Solstice Track: 61.4
Solstice Wheelbase: 95.1

Seriously, you should research way more than you have before you spend $20,000 plus of your hard earned cash. I'm not sure of dimensions because I really don't feel like pulling up the info right now on the internet.

However, the new Miata MX-5 uses NO turbocharger. It uses a normally aspirated 2.0L four cylinder with variable valve timing.

since we're talking cars....did you see that GM was going to layoff 25,000 people and then tonight I saw an ad on TV that everyone can get 'GM Employee Discount' ....whats up with that....I already get GM and Ford supplier discounts....but why would GM offer everyone employee discount price? maybe i can get the discount and end of year closeout and get another vette....just what i need is insurance that costs $2000 a year again....my last vette was a piece of $hit....I spun the rod bearings with only 42K miles on it, I blew at head gasket at 28K....lemon....

GM is in rough shape right now, there's no doubt. They're actually taking profit losses to move vehicles because they're so overstocked with trucks and SUV's at the moment.

Personally, I'd stay away from them until they restructure. I've seen nothing but crap come from them in the past few years and I expect nothing more in the next few more years.

That, sir, is the specs from the current, 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata.

The Miata I'm speaking of is the ALL-NEW 2006 Mazda Miata MX-5, the vehicle I pasted a link to earlier.

LOL, I haven't seen anything from anyone in the last few years... Europe, US or Japan.. The only thing that has struck my fancy in the last few years is the Vette. Although I have never owned one, I have known a number of people that have had great success with them. I have no problem buying from GM.. seems like a great time to get a good deal
