New Gates belt HELP !!
#1
Just got in 2 new gates belts for my 05 scrambler 500. It cost me less than $20 bucks each and I was wondering if using a Gates verses Polaris belt if I would have to SHIM anything or just put it on Number side facing away from engine?
Thanks in advance,
RIck

You shouldn't have to shim anything. Just put in on and go. The only time you would need to shim anything is if your clutch was out of alignment. If it was in good alignment when you had the Polaris belt on then I should say then you are good to go.

The gates should be a direct replacement if you got the right model. I got a deal on a dayco and a gates and tried them both. They both seemed alot better than stock so I put the dayco in and have the gates for a backup.
