This was first found on the '02 introduction of the 700 and on all the twins. In 'O4 the 500 and 400 sportsman's have central engagement.

The scramblers may still be at the wheels hubs.

the 04 models of the sportsman has the exturnal hubs yet it wasnt until the 04.5 model that the hubs were centrilized
Thats true in the case of the 400 and 500 but the twins received the update in 2002 (first year) and never had the engagement at the hubs.
