What a load of S#@! for 2006
This sucks for 2006!! Big freaking deal, EFI on the 500!! What is really the cost difference between an EFI 500 and EFI 700?? Maybe $1000?? By the time you figure in resale value, the $1000 upgrade is well worth it plus you get some extra power!! I am so disappointed with the Scrambler, sure the orange is cool but nothing new! C'mon Polaris, drop the 700 or even 800 EFI in the Scrambler, redo the frond end to look like a Preddy 500 and you have a guaranteed grand slam on the sales with that. That thing would sell like hotcakes. I can't believe this is all that is coming out. Personally, I could care about small utility quads, isn't that an oxymoron? Small utility quad???? Those won't sell at all, Polaris should look at Yamaha & Bombadier, get a friggin clue Polaris!!

I was looking to replace my scrammy 400 4x4 but it looks like the scrambler is still the best automatic sport atv out there. they missed the calling on the outlaw. All they had to do to make that outlaw perfect was put the autotrans in it. I would be at the dealer in the morning with the check in hand.

OK, here's my thought on the 2006's after thinking about it on and off today.
How many new models did they introduce? A BUNCH! I'm sure they have a ton of money into this Outlaw project and they don't even know how customers will react to a new sport quad with IRS, this is a completely new step in a different direction with sport quads, very chancy by Polaris.
I don't know about your guys local dealers but mine can't even keep Scramblers in stock! I bought an used '04 Scrammy from AZ because my local dealer had the ones on order sold! Heck, ride your Scrammy, it may not be EFI but they ride good, are really fast, look good, and are mechanically sound. A late model Scrammy is the product of 10+ years of gradual updates to the machine.
Now, with that said.....if you had a bunch of money invested in something that was totally new to the sport (the Outlaw), along with introducing a bunch of other brand new models that probably are going to need the bugs worked out of them......would you want to gut one of your most solid and best performing models(the scrammy)? If you were a football coach and recieved a bunch of new rookies to the lineup, you wouldn't kick your all star player to the curb would you?
This same thing happened last year with their snowmobile line. Anyone else snowmobile? I ride both Polaris atv's but mostly snowmobiles. Their new, from the ground up, Fusion and 900 RMK had numerous problems. If it wasn't for a few of their other great selling models that hung in there, they might not have made it through the year very well.
If I had to make a bet I would say the Scrambler will see some newer upgrades (like EFI) for 2007 if everything goes fairly well with these new '06 models. Maybe even a complete make over if the Outlaw kicks but in sales.

I'm still a polaris man, the only quads i would buy from polaris now is the one of the SPs Predator and Scrambler the rest IMO are just odd and cheap. Not sure how the Outlaw is, i'm not sure if they are going to sell many of them, most people have no idea about IRS on a sport quad.
The big slap in the face is no 450 pred, if polaris wants to stay up in the sport quad market they need a big bore sport quad like the 700 rap and a 450 like the YFZ and keep the 500 pred as a trail machine.

Trailrider 500 has said it all, lock the thread now!!! There is a reason why people are buying Raptor 660's and Yamaha 450's!!! The Preddy should stay the way it is, it does kick some serious *** out there, but Polaris still needs a big bore automatic like the KFX 700 but with 4x4 and agressive styling. That is being different and will lure customers away from these other quads. The Scrambler is a solid ATV, no doubt about it, but c'mon it needs to be updated and improved. The EFI is nothing new, drop the motor in and lets go!! I am personally going to buy a '05 Scrambler 500 leftover this upcoming spring--no sense in me getting raked over the coals for an '06 just because it is orange. My style of riding needs a sport 4x4, so it will be bye bye Preddy--Hello old school Scrambler.
