Just leave it in low when towing and the belt will be fine.
There are only 3 zerk fittings in the newer than 02 sportsmans to grease.
Two diffs and a tranny to change the fluids in but it is very easy to do.
I also would be conserned that someone wants to trade down to a Honda 400.
how well do you know this guy and the quad in question? Check it out good.
