Default Ford, Chevy, or Dodge

I drive or have driven all of them for my job over the last 20+ years. They all have good and bad points equally. The chevy is probably the best driving truck. I will not own any more chevy's though, because of the attitude of those that do.

Now I'm sorry, but that's just dumb. I'm having trouble seeing the logic there.

Anyways, all of the trucks have their weak points and strong. Is one better than the other, not entirely. But to put my opinion simply, if Chevy doesn't come out with anything impressive in '07 then my next truck just might be a Ford (good trucks indeed). As for Dodge, I think a pic on my page sums up my attitude towards Dodge trucks...grab life by the tubes! (check my pic page..hehe) You can't knock the Cummins, but that's all that appeals to me in a Dodge truck.

We can argue about this all day...

How can a lot of people say ford sucks when they are the #1 selling truck for 26 straight years, that
Ford has always been a good, well built truck and they do move a lot of vehicles. For me thats a drawback, I don't want to have just anothe Ford Super Duty going by.

AS for engines.... You just can't beat that 5.9L Cummins turbo diesel 325hp and 610lb-ft of torque.... Powerstroke and Duramax owners can just dream of that kind of power!!!
They don't have to dream because they nearly have it. Ford's newer 6.0 PSD makes 325HP and 570ft lbs. I've riddin in one and installed an 80HP chip, they move! The Dmax currently is 310HP and 605ft lbs, wait in 6 months and you will see a thumper of a new Dmax, it will be 360HP and 650ft lbs with a 6 spd Allison auto.

What the Cummins does have over the other two is it's durability, dependability, and low end power band. It's all in the inline 6 design, it's just a superior configuration with diesels.

chevy trucks, the longest lasting, most dependable trucks on the road. Its a revolution.
How corny......
tell me guys FORD CHEVY DODGE ???
I own a 2001.5 Dodge Ram Cummins/auto 3/4ton 4x4 that is a red sport with black leather interior.

My dad has a 2002 Dodge Ram Cummins H.O./6spd manual 1 ton dually 4x4. Black sport and black leather.

I don't think I have to answer the question....

Ive always owned Chevies in the past but am now a Mopar man. I like the interior better, definantly the body styling, inline 6 cummins power, and a MUCH stouter drivetrain than the weaker IFS counter part.

An atv forum is not the place to talk about pickups. Come over to
www.towrig.com

THAT is the forum for this type of discussion.

Ok here we go my trucks better then your truck yada yada yada. What can I say I can’t resist joining in.

As far as diesels.

Dodge and the Cummins in #1 for sheer power and towing ability it can’t be beat this isn’t really an arguable point. But id rather ride in a soap box car then a dodge down the highway, the 1 tons are rough. It is possible that the duramax's will blow me away but I just haven’t had much confidence in Chevy’s diesel program.

Half tons are a different story. The 5.3 vortec in the Z71 can’t be beat. We have owned and own FX4s and Z71s in the mud id rather be behind the wheel in a Chevy then a ford. Down the highway id rather be behind the wheel of a Chevy. The only thing ford has going for them is the new mustang and the fit and finish of the king ranches.

All and all I will keep my 2002 Z71 I have been 100% happy with it. So far 91,000 miles of trouble free service. As far as the trailblazer my wife drives it has been ok. We got one of the first ones in central Texas and there were some problems with it and the straight 6 seems gutless.

Ford guy normally because of build quality. Ended up buying an '04 3500 w/ cummins cuz of the big rebates they were offering at the time and because the cummins reputation. Both are good trucks. The Dodge has more low end. The Ford has more mid to top rpm power, better transmission, and better metal construction. My friends '04 f-350 will out pull my Dodge even though it has slightly less power/torque just because of the transmission and the higher redline. The Cummins will probably outlast it though.

The Duramax has some appealing qualities but I cannot stand the looks of the chevy and a 4x4 Chevy stands as tall as a 2 wheel drive Ford or Dodge. I need a 4x4 that has clearance - not a cadillac ride.

i think in my personal and humble opinion that ford and dodge are the way to go, and neither one of them can beat each other. i think the chevy is a good truck, but its deffenetly not a heavy weight heavy duty truck like the ford and dodge. the front Independent kills it, and that jap durimax POS dosnt have anything on the cummins or the super600. the ford is the fastest of the bunch, the dodge is the toughest and strongest, and the chevy/GMC is just a chevy/GMC in my times with chevy products, every single one ive seen has been a POS, a good vehical itself and reliable, but things like plastic dashes, bad automatic tranny timeings, front independents and that FUGLY styleing just gets me. just wait for the Generation 4 cummins and the new Twin turbo international
