Hi guys. The pred that I just bought has what I think is a slight rod knock. It is supposed to have a 12.5-1 piston with a head modd with 1mm bigger valves and heavier valve springs with bigger cams and a pure sport pipe. It is a 03 pred 500. Is this sound normal. I don't think it had race fuel in it or even high octane gas. Just wondering if anyone has head this, the guy I bought it off of said it has been like that. He did buy this brand new at the end of 02. Any replies will be considered help. By the way the noise does'nt seem to hurt the performance at all and it does'nt seem to do it when you rev it up a bit. Thanks, RUSS

 

mine knocks also. Its a normal knock. i think its just the valves knocking but i could be wrong. if u havent joined predatorowners.com DO IT!!! awesome site if u r a predator owner. Those guys know damn near everything.

 

My '03 has knocked since day 1. Ridden it hard and no problems. I can't tell you if my '05 makes the same sound or not. I'm so used to it that I guess I don't even notice it anymore.
Like showtime said make sure you check out pred owners. Extremely helpful site.
