What does a reed cage space do for you ? More top end or bottom end ? Does it hurt your bottem end or top end power ?

Adding a spacer lowers primary (crankcase pressure) compression which generally decreases horsepower, it will smooth the powerband transition from off to on the pipe so if you have a wicked hit coming on the pipe it will reduce that some. Primary compression is built up on the piston down stroke forcing the fresh air/fuel charge up through the transfer ports to fill the cylinder for the next power stroke. Lowering this pressure results in less air/fuel transfer to the combustion chamber.....

it only help to extend reeds's life some more and add some down low torque, but yes it WILL decrease top end by much, decreasing power output
at wide open and needing a richer main jet wich is not good especially
on a race ported jug.

The main reason i use it ,is because it gets the reeds a little farther away from the heat.I have run it with and without,it's hard to tell the difference.

I'm with CED, little difference. It has a couple of advantages. One is to move farther from the heat, the other is it makes the intake tract longer and that increases low end torque a little. If going from A to B is all your concerned with then go without it.

have you guys messed with moving the position of the reeds at all on a v-force 2 setup? i was thinkin of playin with this when i get mine back from my dealer. i was having problems with a lean spot at mid throttle then noticed i was spewin coolent out of the hole in the top of the overflow bottle. there's no coolent in the counter balance and i'm still holding 160psi compression so there going to check to see if my water pump is workin right. if it is i guess i'll try changin the head gasket. Rick Ritter's been helpin me out. he sure is a nice guy.
