Default 00'Scrambler 4x4 engages 1 front hub in 2x4

2000 scrambler 500 4x4 front hub engaged while in 2 wheel drive. Signaling to the rider behind me to stop by taking one hand off handlebars, at that moment front hub locks in and I crash. Had back to dealer for problem in 2001, couldn't find anything wrong with it. From the crash I have a broken leg and ankle , 10 stitch in elbow. Owners that experienced this problem on a polaris atv please contact me. (email)

Ive experianced this problem if i have the improper torque on the hub nut or dont have enough hub fluid. Its ussaully results from improper assembly.

I have a 99 scrambler 500 that does the same thing. I know my hub oil is fine.

Have same problem with my 01'. Real hard jerks to the right pulled everything and my cv is toast.

my 99 scrammy does the same thing once in a while. but mainly when taking it out of 4 wheel drive. Just have to stop and back up about 3 ft and it's fine.

My 2002 Scrammy also did that I changed the armature plate and a new spring around the role cage #12

Works great now

My '00 335 does not engage in 2wd, but it will stay in once I take it out of 4wd, like previously posted. All I have to do is put it in reverse and the hub dis-engages. This is normal for me as it is noted in the owners manual. HOwever, it has never just engaged when driving.
