How to install left fender bag??
#1
I have installed the complete BodyGuard rails and lots of other accessories on my SP800 without any problems, but this gives me a challenge, eventhough it should be so simple.
How do I install the 2005-06 Sportsman Left Fender bag? The bag has 2 straps (on the top and buttom) and some velcro, which I suppose needs to stick to the fender itself. But where do I mount the straps?
I live in Denmark (N Europe) and would be interested to hook up with other ATV riders near.

Forget the velcro, it won't stay stuck for any length of time. Go to the hardware store and get a handle for a gate, or a drawer pull. Use this with a couple of short bolts with washers and nuts. Play around with the positioning, until you get the bag to lay flat on the fender, drill a couple of holes for the bolts. The only way to go.

I have the IPI Pro Fender Bag mounted to my SP800. I`m not sure what the Polaris bag is like. The IPI bag has two straps on the top that are supposed to be looped around something and then goes back to the bag`s buckle. But there is nothing to loop the strap around. I cut a sort piece of nylon strap from a light duty tie down. I melted a hole through the center of the strap and put it between the front storage rack and fender. There are some small torx head screws that hold the fender to the rack. I lined up the hole in the strap so that the screw went through it. Then I put these straps through the buckle on the bag. I used the velcro on the fender. The adhesive won`t hold for ever but I can always buy more velcro. The bottom staps I just looped through the holes in the floor boards. I spent 2 weeks in Colorado in August and it worked great.

Thanks for that reply Dogtoy. It seems like the original Polaris bag shares the same problems as your's. My Polaris bag has a strap on the top with a buckle on each end - but there's nothing on the fender or rack that I can tie it around. Strange, there must be another solution rather having to custom fit straps etc...

Not sure if you have the small side bag or the larger one but the small bag is made to attach to the Polaris lock n ride storage box, I supposed you could buy the hardware loop kit (it's sold separate) and bolt it to the fender instead of the box. Look on the Polaris website at the accessories and you'll see the mounting location . I have the box with 2 bags, I like that setup.....
