Winch contactor

Hey, one other thing, I took my buddies cable off his 2500 lb. I was looking for a lead type piece on the loop at the drum. There was not one there. Does it need one? My 2000 lb winch had one, but I did not know if these newer ones were different. Thanks

Anyone ever take these bad contacters apart and see whats wrong. I took one apart the other day and mainly it looks like the contacts themselves were burnt. That looked like they could be cleaned up but there is some small coil wires that break when you separate the two halves that would need to be repaired and would not be worth it time wise to repair. Polaris wants $100. and Warn wants $88.
The new contact assembly does look different and I wonder if it will last longer. Charlie

THey called a few days later and said that it was indeed wet inside, apparently when the shop installed the winch, they took the mounting bracket off the solenoid and just bolted it in place. Superwinch said the mounting bracket was part of the contactor and kept it sealed; when I looked in the manual, it said this.
But mine didn't die on its own, it got wet after being submerged all the time after the shop broke its seal.

I am asking about how the cable attaches to the winch. On Warn, I have only seen one, you shove the cable through a hole, then bend it around a (removable)metal piece and start to shove the cable back through the same hole. So basical the cable makes a 180 degree turn, and the metal piece wedges itself between the two cables. This sounds alot harder then what it is. LOL!!!

I have a extra winch and would like to connect it to a mount that will let me put it on the back of either of my 2 quads. I want to use the standard swithc to control either winch. The electrical also has to be a quick disconnect so I can switch between both quads. Any ideas? Where would I get info ont he MV7 setup and parts? Thanks...
