Do 26' 589s fit on stock 05 sp 800 rims
I’m going to qualify this statement before I make it because it’s hearsay. I have no first-hand experience with the early 800 wheel problems I’ve heard about but I’ve heard there are problems, and on the later 800s Polaris has changed the design to correct them. The problems were not holding air and pinching / cutting sidewalls when riding in rocks.
I know you have some sharp looking aluminum wheels there and it bites to have to replace them but if you’re going to a wider tire I suggest you put them on aftermarket wheels to avoid the leakage and clearance issues. Aftermarket wheels for Polaris are 7” wide front and rear and have a 1” farther to the outside offset than stock which keeps those wider fronts away from the tie rod ends.
If you put the 9” wide fronts on the stock wheels the inside wall of the front tires may clear the tie rod end but by how much? If it’s less than ¼” you can expect to be tearing up your tie rod end boots when you get in the mud. I put 28 x10 Mud Lites on aftermarket wheels on the front of my ’05 700 for a while. They cleared the tie rod end boot by ¼” or less but when the tire picked up mud while riding through the slop the clearance went away and the result was torn tie rod end boots, and soon bad outer tie rod ends.

Thanks guys! I think I need to just slime all 4 tires use up the tires as much as possible and get new ones (maybe something in 14") when i need to. I just get sick of getting stuck in holes that a 600 sp with 589s can walk through, but i dont miss the rough ride on the hard packed dirt or the flip your bike over on steep hill traction. Fact is that as men we could have bullet proof carbon fiber plastics and kevlar lined tires with 2.5" lugz that ride like a new set of Mischelins and we would still find something we want more, so with that said i think Ill just get a nitrious system installed a just go across the top of the puddles, lol.
