where do i look for the build date??

 

Its on the sticker that has the VIN. I'm not sure, but I think its on one of the radiator guards in the front wheel well.

 

i second that... no doubt that hondas RUN great... but when it comes to problems your tellin me.... my buddys been through more bearings and ball joint... he started at 3000 to 3500 noticing loose bearings and noise, im rollin in 3000 miles and i havent had one problem [ Knock on wood]

i've been viewing stuff on EBAY lately. seems to me that the # of replies and positive/negative responses really mean something. will EBAY dump sellers with bad ratings? i've heard they will!

what earns a seller a bad rating? i guess it would be if they sell something that doesn't work when they represented it otherwise.

how long do you think Polaris would last selling on EBAY with that rating system? i would guess not long with all these BRAND NEW 500EFI THAT WON'T RUN RIGHT.....RIGHT OUT OF THE CRATE!

seems to me a lot of sellers on EBAY REALLY care about their ratings. it's their CREDIBILITY! a good rating produces FUTURE SALES!

why wouldn't Polaris have just TESTED these 500EFI's for about TEN MIN BEFORE SENDING THEM TO MARKET? clearly this problem could have been avoided!

everyone turns a new chapter if their lives, some for the better, some not. i seriously question if Polaris's has turned for the worse.

any GOOD Dealer will STOP DELIVERY of ALL Sportsman500EFI's untill they can fix Polaris's un-excusible oversite.

keep in mind, i'm the guy that talked till i was blue in the face to buy Polaris. my clothing (jackets,hats,t-shirts), garage, desk at work, rear bumper of my family car, "polaris parking only" sign in my driveway, key fobs, EVERYTHING i own is plastered POLARIS! it's just very discouraging for me for this to happen.

i'm sure Wed they will fix it......but the point is IF Polaris REALLY cared, they would NOT have let this happen in the FIRST place.

i really fully understand were your comingfrom as we had a simmiler problem with our sportsman 500 when it was deliverd way back when, but really, please keep in mind that your quad is a first run, that probebly a good 100 of them went out of the factory and polaris didnt know untill people like you got yours and complained about the issue. i mean, its nto really that big of a problem anyway (exept for the plowing part) as long as you dont/didnt damage your motor or anything else then id be relatively happy about the issues being fixed as fast as they can.

 

boy you diehard polaris guys sure are touchy. you guys act like they've never built a bad quad just cuase you've never had problems. i thought that's what these forums were for, to discuss stough like this, not bash everybody that has a complaint. i could see if the guy was bashin the hell out of them but all he said was he got a bad deal and he was thinkin of switchin brands. i have three of them and i can still take an objective look at things. the simple fact is these dealers got 60 days to sell these things then they gotta start payin interest on them. there not gonna hold them back cause they got problems. they should be fixin them before they leave there. from the description of the problem it's not something that might happen, it's gonna happen. if i was an honest dealer i would stop takin delivery until they started comin from the factory with the fix. or not sell them untill they sent me the parts, but it sounds like it's biseness as usual.

 

Polaris did seem to drop the ball on this one! But the warranty and the DEALER should be able to come through for you. If the DEALER does not make YOU happy I would dial up Polaris and STAY on them until YOU are happy. I really love my 700 and know a few that have the 500 and are happy AFTER the dealer made 'em happy! If you do not get satisfaction from your dealer I would call up Polaris till YOU are satisfied!!!!!

BTW, when i brought her home last week i noticed the right front tire pressure was off. I called the Dealer on it, they said something about the gauge on their hose being off so i toped it off at home......well, guess what?...........YUP it's FLAT!

GOTTA LEAK RIGHT OUT-OF-THE CRATE!

now this may be a small item to most, but how many ATV's get delivered BRAND NEW with a LEAKING TIRE? LOL!(yes, i still have a sence of humor and can laugh about this FAILURE!)
