I know what you mean redmtn, like the interior smell of a new truck. But like I always say as we roll ‘em out of the trailer before their first trail ride, “Take a good look at ‘em now because they’re never gonna look this good again.”

MT, don’t get too wrapped up in placing blame or “the principal of the thing.” You can’t be any more positive it didn’t happen when the quad was in your possession than the dealer can that it didn’t happen prior to you taking possession. Either way the fix is the same. That plug isn’t going to give you any trouble if they did it right. If it does develop a slow leak (doubtful from a nail hole) get out your trail repair kit and stick another plug in it. Life’s too short…….. Let’s hope your cooling fix sticks and you can be thrilled with your new machine again.

That's a spiral shank a gutter nail. That is, it's used to fasten a bracket to the fascia that holds up rain gutters. It's made of aluminum so it won't rust or cause corrosion issues with the other aluminum parts. As a general contractor I've seen a lot of them.
Now about that $100, I do accept credit cards!
