I would bet the farm your hitting the rev limiter, mine does it and I am beginning research to fix the probelm. Mine is worse now that a timeing advance was made, much more and quicker power, belt ratio change can't keep up with engine. Used to happen on hard full throttle starts, now happens on rolling starts and 80-90 percent throttle starts as well. bob ...........

So let me get this straight---The dealer told you that they could not see how you could give it full throttle wIthout flipping over after their own employee tech did exactly that replicating the condition you were complaining about when you first brought it in,hmmmm. Yeah that dealer would be history after some misery.

I guess it could be a rev limiter issue. I didn't think it was because it didn't do it until about 10hrs. The tech who drove it when I took it in the first time didn't seem to think the belt was glazed, he said it hooked up better than most he has ridden...Who the heck knows...Other than this problem I do love the machine, I want to ride!!!!

Potter, i had the same exact problem with mine new. my 800 now has over 350 miles and dosent do it anymore. asked my dealer about it before i left the lot with it and didnt have an answer for it. im not sure when it stopped but it dosent do it anymore. everyone i talked never heard of it, hopefully it will go away for you also. i know exactly what youre talking about about 2-3 seconds off the line with throttle pegged it has a quick hicup like a you said for like a half a second then goes on like it never happened.

Sound to me also like the rev limiter. Could be caused by a slight belt or clutch slip (high torgue).
If it's only takes a split second during accelleration (mine does it now and then), I wouldn't bother about it.
Just a small disadvantage having an auto transmission, and probably one of the reasons why pro riders always use manual shift.
