I have a 2000 Sportsman 500 and the AWD quit working suddenly. The speedo also does not work. I have checked the fuses and all are good. Any input would be appreciated.

Sounds like you need a new speedo. The speedo controls the AWD and when the speedo goes out so does the AWD.

Do you get power to the speedo but the needle just does not move? If everything else works but the needle does not move then most likely the hall effect sensor is bad. It is a sensor on the right front strut that gives the signal to the speedo. If this is bad the speedo wont work and neither will the awd. These go out alot more often than the speedo.

Thanks I will check for power there. The speedo did quit all at once, the needle does not move at all.
