hey I don't believe in unfair human rights at the cost of a cheap product and I whole heartily believe in taking care of your own counrty before anything else I hate how Canada (my home) shares it's oil with anyone who would want to buy it ... causing ME to have to pay high pump prices!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunatly I don't make the decisions and what not
it is what it is .........people want cheap products and we cannot product anything with the wages we all need to live or expect
there has to be a trade off just happens to be big companies using cheap labor to make their stuff
very few things are changed unless one the government tells someone to change or if someone can get it cheaper somewhere else

IF you STILL think I'm a COMMIE ..........I can tell you that I live in British Columbia Canada where we pay 14% sales tax
I regularly buy local and pay the TAX when I could easily drive 60 miles into the province of Alberta and pay just 7% income tax
this is because I choose to support my local buisnesses

getting back to the topic!!!!!!
I'm sure if polaris could produce a complete ATV SLED or MOTORCYCLE in house and still compete with asian manufactures THEY WOULD!!!!!!!

BY the way I don't manifacture anything but I do rebuild transmisions and always proudly put my name on it!!!!
also I don't cry my eyes out when someone wants to drive to Calgary to pay half of what I want for a CHEAP rebuild
If people want something cheap they very seldom care when you say that the quality is lesser

Boy, now I am really going to throw you guys a curve!... Are you ready for this? Fugi also built Hodaka dirt bikes in the 60s & 70s. The were designed here in the U.S. for the American off road rider. They were the very first light weight off road bikes other than the very expensive european bikes like Bultaco. They built 90cc to 250cc 2 stroke bikes.
I had a Hodaka "Ace 90"....a well built bike.

and then that shisty Duramax diesel, that thing isnt worth jack. i like their Vortec motors though, great stuff. most companys outsource their motors, i donno if GM makes the Vortec motors, but i know all of Ford's Triton motors are made at their plant in Rome, Michigan.
I happen to work at the GM HD (Crew Cab),and commercial (Med Duty) truck assembly plant.

I personally know of several people who switched from Fords and Chryslers (Dodge) to the GM crew cab to get that Isuzu-designed Diesel engine.

I also have a family member who bought one, then a few months later hit it big in a casino, gave his slightly used Crew-cab Diesel (Duramax) to one son,and bought two others; one for himself;the other for his other son.

I also know that engine is in such high demand, ever since it become available we've been working maximum overtime (3 Saturdays a year),plus voluntary overtime (3 Saturdays a year).Saturdays are my shift's double-time day.

There are 3 shifts working this schedule.

All I EVER hear is how this is the best engine on the road.

If polaris had to pay fat lazy union workes here in Canada or the USAto manufacure motors us consumers would be paying about $30 grand for our next ATV

same reason all kid toys are made off shore and electronics etc...
who would pay $100 for an AMERICAN MADE barbie doll or $1500 for a DVD player
couldn't be possible

made in north america is way too expensive
Fat,lazy Union Workers?

With citizens like you,Bib;we don't need enemies.

Besides, I just bought a Ranger XP with an AMERICAN MADE Liberty engine.

I made darn sure I bought AMERICAN.What I really like is the fact that it's the very best RUV made, PERIOD.

Parts come from all over, but the Polaris has the most AMERICAN content in it, and the money goes to an AMERICAN company.

But I give Kawasaki some credit, some, or all of their engines are made in the USA.Yet the money they make in profits goes overseas.

I have to work for a living and my money does not come easy.

I will buy the best quality product for the money and I really don't care where it is made.

If I can buy a product that is quality for a resonable price that is made in Japan or wherever I would but it in a heartbeat over a US made product that cost more and is not the same quality.

It is not Japan's fault that some US factories can't make quality products.

i agree its a good engine to an extent, just not my favorite, and i see other diesel motors better, mainly the Cummins. once chevy redesigns their front end and gets rid of that stupid asian eyes (no offence to anyone on the board) i'll consider getting an HD with the 8 leiter in it.
