Clutch kit for 700 EFI
#1
I'm looking to put a clutch kit in my new 700 EFI. My Polaris dealership had just put a Highlander kit in and said it made a big differance. I'm kind of disapointed in the way the 700 power lacks punch. In fact my "03" 600 was just as fast. It's got 110 miles on it. Any comments would be appriciated except (you should have bought a 800). That's hindsight. Thanks

I thought my sp700efi felt "flat' compared to my '03 600 also! It feels that way, but it is acually a lot quicker. The efi's rev quick and seem to hit the rev limiter a lot, especially on anything loose like gravel. Mine picked up a lot of power after 5-600 miles just like my 600 did, but I like it much better now with the mods I've made. Go to www.daltonindustries.com and check out the efi 700 primary clutch kit. Do you have a new '06? If you do then you already have the sp800 style primary clutch. Either way the clutch kit will help. I installed my clutch kit, sp800 header pipe and airbox snorkle all at the same time, so I can't tell you what made the most improvement. But I have since experimented with the stock verses 800 snorkle, and I switched it back to the sp800 snorkle right away. The stock snorkle just chokes the engine way down! I also recommend the k&n filter, but be sure to clean it often and don't use too much filter oil after cleaning, as it can contaminate the throttle plate. at $15.00 plus for a new oe filter, it can be a big cost savings if you ride in dusty conditions a lot.

Thanks for the input. I'll have check on the sp800 snorkel. The 700 does look choked off
