brand new starter and bendix installed. starter spins counterclockwise, bendix does not engage to flywheel. which would spin clockwise. does anyone ihave any ideas why it is not engaging?

does starer need to spin clockwise? so that fly wheel spins counter clockwise? or bad bendix?
or what someone help me out.

 

The engine, looking at the mag side (pull rope side) should spin clockwise

 

forgot to finish, the starter should be spinning clockwise also. If its not, take it apart and flip the outer case (with the magnets glued to it) around. I think that should reverse the direction of the starter. I said I think, It's getting kinda late(getting hard to think). 11:30est
