well first and formost don't advertise what you have , I always try to keep my toys out of site ,
if I'm going away for awhile I lock all doors and disconnect the garge door power .and I let my local cops know I'm going away for awhile ,use the cops to your advantage ..
my house has been broke into , took almost 4grand in stuff but they left my garage alone .
Have 2 really big dogs with barks that will wake me when something isn't right ,
just don't make it easy for the theives ....

Default keeping your atv??

When I'm out on the trails, I chain the atv to the biggest tree i can find. I make sure that It's next to the tent. I use three chains One to go through all four rims, and the other two through the frame and around the tree. That seems to keep the theives away, well no problems yet....

Yeah, I'm with you I also carry a Taurus pt145 Auto W/ Permit. The dog runs loose alot and The rifle or shot gun can out run most quick thieves. I did install a security system on the quad But it really should be louder..

Insurance didn't help my buddy a couple months ago when his Z400 was stolen 6 ft from the camper. Beat it up ct the ignition wires and dumped it in the field after running out of gas. Who has 0 deductable? I want it

Sorry, I just checked my policy and I actually have a $100 deductible on my comprehensive. I have coverage through Progressive. Didn't your buddy's comprehensive cover the damage to his Z400? Mine covers loss due to theft as well as "malicious mischief or vandalism", including "wear and tear, mechanical or electrical breakdown, and road damage to tires" as a result of theft.

After hearing what other people are paying for insurance, I consider myself lucky to have the policy I have for just $104. Of course I do have a 6 year old machine, so that is part of it.

Just get Insurance on it. If you lock it or bolt it to the floor in your garage, they will find a tool in your garage to get it free. I don't bother locking it up because I have a cutting torch in the garage. If your worried about it, just park your car's in front of the garage door. As for shooting someone over it, it's not worth going to jail for a piece of crap.

Hey, jclaude
I own the Louisana Gauard Dog for the back of my pickup, that thing work's great.

I have three overhead doors, one is in the back for my machine, other equipment and the kids' bikes. that way the cars can stay put, and with just two the back stays clear so locking it to the floor gives me peace of mind, it ain't fool proof, but will slow "them" down or deter "them" altogether. we are never away from the house long enough to worry about it and don't have a schedule for a thief to study either.

Get an intercom and put one next to your bed turned up real loud, you will hear any noise going on in the garage.....
